Apple has allegedly refused to adopt Intel's Arrandale processor and the Calpella platform in its default form, according to a BSN report.
Intel is planning to launch its 32+45nm dual-core+iGFX Fusion processor in a few weeks, and OEMs have jumped onboard with the Calpella designs [codename for PM55-chipset based platform]; however, a source tells BSN that Apple doesn't care.
Apple has apparently demanded that Intel provide them with the 32nm version without the integrated graphics. The first use of the processor would likely be for a MacBook refresh early next year.
BSN notes that they "cannot confirm the information about the replacement CPU, we only know that Apple rejected Arrandale."
