A new leak from Sonny Dickson offers a closer look at what are purported to be the Camera Control buttons for Apple's upcoming iPhone 17 lineup. The images showcase the small component in a range of finishes that appear to correspond with previously rumored color options for both the standard and Pro models.
The more vibrant pastel colors, including purple, blue, and green, seem to align with the finishes expected for the standard iPhone 17 and the new iPhone 17 Air. Earlier leaks of dummy units and accessory-based reports have suggested distinct palettes for these models, with shades of blue, green, and purple for the standard iPhone 17, and a light gold and light blue for the Air.
The new orange/copper button, however, lines up with rumors for the high-end models. That specific finish has appeared in multiple leaks for the iPhone 17 Pro, including on dummy units and in images of purported camera lens protectors.
The Camera Control button was first introduced on the iPhone 16, combining a force sensor and capacitive touch to let users quickly launch the camera and adjust settings like zoom or focus. The component is expected to be a key feature of the entire iPhone 17 lineup, which Apple is set to unveil at its 'Awe dropping' special event on September 9.
