Apple today unveiled the Apple Watch Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop, a new special-edition band released in honor of Black History Month. The accessory incorporates the red, black, and green colors of the Pan-African flag.
The band's construction involves weaving recycled polyester yarn filaments around ultrathin silicone threads using precision-braiding machinery. The result is a soft, textured feel that remains sweat and water resistant. The unique weave structure reveals multiple shades of the colors to provide depth and vibrancy to the design.
Alongside the hardware release, Apple announced grants for several organizations that support creativity and economic opportunity. Recipients include the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Urban Arts in New York City, Youth Music in London, the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney, and Enactus México.
The Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop is priced at $99. It is available to order now on the online store and will arrive at Apple Store locations later this week. The band comes in 42mm and 46mm connector sizes with various length options. It is compatible with the Apple Watch Series 4 or later, the Apple Watch SE, and all Apple Watch Ultra models, provided the 46mm band is used for the Ultra. This makes it a matching accessory for users of the latest Apple Watch Series 11 and Apple Watch Ultra 3.
