Yeh. You can use any sim card you want. It means it'll work with other countries sim cards. However, not sure if it will throw up a fuss when you try to unlock it in iTunes and it detects you're not in UK. I'm not 100% sure though sorry.

Oh yeah :)
Just pre-ordered mine. Ended up doing it twice by accident since the site
was so unstable. I'm glad Apple has worked it out with all
the major Carriers. No more unlocking troubles for me :). However if you buy it from a certain Carrier then it's locked to them. At least it says that if you reserve an iPhone in an Apple store.

I've done the same... pre-ordered. Who in their right mind would sign up to a 24 month contract and expensive tariff... unlocked and sim only tariff is by far the best solution.
I've recycled my 3gs for £250 too, I am happy all round.

I thought the same. But apple are always hot on the tail of 3rd party unlocks and such so I thought what the hell and just ordered it unlocked. I wonder if Apple'll do what they did
with iPad and make sure nobody gets it before the release date. I'd love to get it early, even if it's a day or two :)

Most carriers are gonna have it anyway. Im just gonna wait for tmobile to get it in stock cause ive already got a contract with them. Then i wont have to worry about unlocking
