Strangely Skype can no longer be found for download from the App Store.
First noticed by TechCrunch they reached out to Skype about this and were told that theyre currently investigating:
Were not seeing the Skype app in the App store. Were very eager to get to the bottom of this, and I can tell you this has nothing to do with our Verizon deal. The Skype for iPhone app and the Skype Mobile app on Verizon Wireless phones have co-existed.
Theres still a page on Skypes official site that details the app; however, their mobile site oddly omits any mention of it .

Skype is there! I just checked and it is there. Please check carefully before starting rumors.

It was gone for only about 4 hours, and from what i noticed only from the iphone app store, not when you searched it directly from itunes... Haha, well im guessing they were just doing an update :)

It's still there, if you do a search for it and you look down on the left.
You will see under
Artists and More:
Skype Software S.a.r.l
If you click on that you can download the app still

No wonder, it's very buggy on 4.0. Also reports itself as incompatible when you start it! Where is the update they promised.
