After about two and a half years of design the iControlPad, a gaming control pad for the iPhone, has finally begun mass production.
The first production run is only 3000 units. They expected to sell out fast will begin taking orders in September.
Below you can find a video on the history of iControlPad which explains the current design. Notably, iControlPad should work with new iPhones and other smartphones by replacing the side pieces.

Very nice design. Glad they were thinking of consumer spending as well.

Um, I hope they have a license to use the port on the phone, because apple is not keen on allowing hookups to the port that aren't authorized. Too bulky otherwise.

thats one bulky ass phone at your ear then if u get a call!!!..
also different smartphones are different sizes, width and length etc, they wont fit in there so smoothly.. thery have different port connectors aswell, and not always on the top or bottom... ahahahaha
