Apple is currently building 2 million iPads/month and wants to increase this to 3 million/month for C4Q10, according to Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty.
Apple's recent increase to 2 million iPads made per month was likely the reason for quicker ship times of the device. However, it seems like Apple is anticipating even higher demand.
Huberty says, Apple recently indicated to its suppliers a desire to move to 3 million per month in C4Q10. This implies a run rate of 36 million in CY11, close to the current 40 million supply chain forecast.
