An anonymous tipster emailing from a Telstra address is claiming that the 3G iPhone will be released publicly in Australia on July 1st.
The 3G iPhone will publically release in Australia on July 1, 2008 being the day the Sydney Apple Store is opened by the minister of telecommunications. I cannot disclose my source but this is locked in.
We are unable to verify the source; however, this timing would be in line with expectations.

Seems like Australia is getitng it late consdering Apple will annoucne the new phone on June 9. Hopng it is available in the US before that.
