So 3rd day of fixing this "wifi icon bug". What a joke. Wish sources had some proper info to be released. dev teams are nolonger keeping their words or keeping the masses posted on development of projects. I believe that is where the frustration of many lies. Personally I can understand that and daydream to the days when they kept their word, were consistent with updates on development and releases. Now it all seems like a big joke. If the fact is that they are holding off for new iOS releases they should state so clearly. I dont really believe the announcements they make anymore. Thankful for all previous JBs and good updates from before 4 months ago! Ungrateful for all the shoving for spotlight and inconsistent announcements concerning JB releases last 4 months. Perhaps Apple paid em all off.....its a conspiracy! :P

i could do the same video using my jailbreaked iphone 4.01 in 5 min. How? take a screenshot of general-about from a non-JB iphone 4, iOS4.2 and save it on my 4.01. fire up Photos App and have it show my fake "about screen" when in fact im on a JB 4.01. Hit home button, theres cydia. FAKE

Again, what's with the racism? WTF? I like this site and thankful for all the jailbreaking goodness, but could really do without the racist slurs that are unjustified.

I dont agree. Freedom of speech is important. You feel grateful, thats great. Some feel disappointed and should also be allowed to express their frustration concerning the many announcements made that the jb is "just around the corner". I dont really believe in this one either to be honest. But we shall see. Going on 3 days soon just to fix this wifi icon......bitch pliiiiiiiz.... :P

Am I the only person who sees the big picture? The Chronic Dev Team has to stop competing with the iPhone Dev Team. They should work together. Also, they shouldn't release this. Why? iOS 4.3 & iOS 5 are the biggest reasons. They are potentially killing an iOS 4.3 or iOS 5 jailbreak by releasing 2 different jailbreaks. 1 jailbreak is from the Dev Team and the new one from Chronic. GeoHot says he has a different unlock, but still, I'd rather have 2 jailbreaks in reserve than just 1 potential option. The only reason I would be FOR them releasing this, is if they have figured out that the same method will work for future versions of iOS on newer devices. Otherwise, I say, don't release the jailbreak. People, you can wait. The Dev Team already has one. They should save it for iOS 4.3 and beyond.

Oops, I didn't mean "unlock" I meant jailbreak. I don't know how to edit the comment on here.

by the time a proper jaibreak will be released, 4.3 will arrive (probably patched by apple so the current jailbreak won't work. like it happened with 4.2.1 :) ) so here you go again, waiting in vain for another 4.3 jaibreak :)

The thing is that a lot of users are stuck right now with ios 4.2, without any chance to downgrade. Another aspect is that nobody makes you upgrade to 4.3. Keep it on 4.2 as the others (dev-team, not chronic dev-team) allready announced they will release their jailbreak as soon as 4.3 is released.

All these "announcements" and no action, I'm running developer's JB on 4.2.1 no problems, tired of waiting seriously, iPhone 5 would be released by now before any of these guys get moving

For travel outside of the US, can I recommend *not* unlocking your iPhone, but instead just renting a SIM from iPhoneTrip.com? Last year I went on 2 trips all throughout Europe and into Africa. One for 24 days and the other for 35 days. The SIM worked everywhere. My iPhone was jailbroken, but not unlocked. It doesn't need to be jailbroken though. As for this 4.2.1 untether jailbreak.... I'm sooooo happy to see this coming! I think this is the longest we've had to wait for an untethered jailbreak since the iPhone first came out. It's been doubly painful since I have an iPad and iPhone. I was really worried they would hold off on release until the Verizon iPhone or 4.3, whichever came *later*.

Kevin: Thanks for the iPhoneTrip.com tip. It'll come handy during my next trip. By the way, and if I'm not mistaken, the last time we had to wait more than a while was 2.2.1. *sigh*, that was a nightmare. Best, Joe :)
