Apple has released iPhone SDK Beta 8 along with a special pre-release version of iTunes 7.7 which is necessary to load the iPhone 2.0 firmware on the 3G iPhone itself. This also suggests that Apple may soon allow third-party software and the App Store to be tested.
The SDK release is focused on bug fixes rather than introducing new features.
iTunes 7.7 features: - Use MobileMe to have push email, push calendars, push contacts, and bookmarks delivered over the air to your iPhone. - Sync all or selected applications
[Update] iPhone 2.0 Firmware 5A345 has also been released!
