Geekaphone has performed a green study of the iPhone and published an infographic to summarize their findings.

Apple pulls in close to 50% of total global cellphone profits by selling only 4% of all cellphones, with that kind of profit and over 100 million iPhones sold Apple is a legitimate gorilla. So just how green is the gorilla’s smartphone?

Who cares! I sure don't. Just perform for all I care. If the last tree stood in the world. Guess what. Firewood baby. Last gallon of fresh water left in world. Guess what it's mines. Who gives. Millions and millions like me. Who cares? I sure don't. I purposely stomp my gas pedal everyday at work. Who the cares! I don't.

Mildly informative. Anyone know wtf is going on after the airplane in the graphic though? What is the white mystery phone that randomly comes into play with different emissions?

I think it is because they fly the iPhones over to the US.

I think what it's trying to convey is the 3G phone had more packing bulk therefor increasing the amount of fuel and emissions from the plane. So the same number of ip4 use less fuel than the same number of 3G phones thereby decreasing emissions. A 1000 ip4s use X amount of fuel less and less emissions.
