It's ok buddy, one day you will be rich enough to afford a Mac, not everyone can live at least middle class. Keep working though and grab an education, maybe then you can afford something worth a damn :)

Haha, it's simply the fact that some people do not want to spend $1000-3000 on a Mac when they can buy a POS HP, Dell, Gateway, etc for $300-1000.00. People aren't as into computers as are the rest of us so they don't see the point of spending the chunk of change it costs on a Mac. Plus when they buy a Mac, then they have to learn a whole new operating system when they are already still learning Windows plagued OS. Wind-blows & sux but to each their own :)

This is complete and utter crap. Let's drop the false line of thought that suggests that creatives only use Macs. That total BS. I'm an artist and an animator and I use a PC. Then there's the fact a Mac is still a PC.

yeh and "wicked" doesn't mean cool, its just slang CDs, gettin sick of smart arses pointing out a mac is a PC, we know fs, but we also know they're referring to windows, so there's no need for everyone to keep mentioning it -_-. and just because you use a PC doesn't mean on the whole that most creatives don't use macs

No but 90% of the movies you watch in the movie theater, 90% of the music you listen to on the radio, online, or on CD, Facebook's entire staff, and 90% of the Magazines you read are all made on a Mac. So if you really want to know then just realize the creativity part of Mac simply comes from the ability to move information on a mac faster than on a PC. That's why animators, video editors, designers, etc who are in the professional world all choose Mac. It's no that Mac people are more creative, it's that creative people often choose Apple because of the better performance. Your welcome.

There is no proof to back up the erroneous claim that most creatives use a Mac PC. That may have been true 15-20 years ago, but not anymore. Hell, I could make the same claim about the number of creatives that use a Windows PC. Such claims are at best pretentious.

I believe DacksMac is right, here in Georgia if you go to the Art Institute of Atlanta, Savannah Institute of Art & Design or go down to the TBS network where they create, design, and make Family Guy and whole bunch of other stuff, you will not find one single Windows based computer. Everything is Apple related. It is what it is and for the fact that a Mac computer pushes information in chunks rather than bytes like a W-PC, then they are the optimal performer in today's design fields. Today's movies are more often then none created on Final Cut Pro (Apple only), music is created and mastered through Digi Design's ProTools and predominately based around Macs, and graphic design stuff to include photography and web design for the professionals is also based on Mac. Stability of the Mac for ProTools is something PC can't even touch. My friend told me before he fought and fought with many PCs when starting my career in post audio. He said he lost months and months of work due to faulty software, drivers and hardware. Some may thing it was human error but he begs to differ. The mac is just so easy to use and is rock solid. When you have clients counting on you to deliver a product and there are tens of thousands of dollars on the line what would you rather? It really comes down to can you deliver with the tools you choose. I have worked a lot with both platforms and It's always the same: when you use a video preview in PC, you gotta watch it in Draft and It will stop over n over. In MAC things run smooth and great. Same RAM, HD, processor for both. Having a MAC instead of a PC is equally relevant as the importance of the sync in sound design. Absolutely crucial. Problem is what happens is that PC users people always get their PC's full of shit, cause it is compatible with everything more than Mac. Macs user just use the computer for pro tools and that is it, no more. If you keep your PC like clean and don't get it full of shit its going to work smooth like a Mac... So there, that's the story

All of my friends that bought mac are complete computer noobs. They only bought it because they want to be trendy, they dont even know the difference between windows and ios.

HAHA I here you, warranties or totally worthless. And if you have to send it in, it takes forever to get it back. I gave up and just started fixing everything my self :) Wow you have had bad luck with your computers, 10 computers in my house 7 are 3+ years old. I haven't had very much trouble with any of them.

Not mu personal bad luck, I have worked as an IT for the Navy for 8 years and my professional job in the civilian side is an IT. I have fixed everything along the way and last year I made the "switch". Got aggravated having to bring my work home with me and now that I use a Mac the problems are minimal.

Umm this is a pet peeve of mine but technically a mac a PC too. Are we forgetting PC stands for person computer, and has nothing to do with what OS it happens to be running? It should be are you a OS X or Windows user.

Once upon a time, yeah, but people have been using PC to differentiate between Macs and the old IBM model since the 80s. There's a point where language changes and the incorrect term becomes correct.
