
Apple Updates Malware Definitions to Block New Mac Defender Variant

Apple has updated its list of malware definitions to block the latest variant of Mac Defender that surfaced yesterday, according to Spider-Mac.
A new entry for "OSX.MacDefender.C" has been added to the Xprotect.plist file that contains the signatures for identifying malware.
Starting with Security Update 2011-003 Apple has introduced a daily background process that checks for updates to its definitions.
