Apple may be automatically refunding MobileMe renewel charges to users ahead of its iCloud announcement today, according to TUAW.
Now Steve M. has chimed in to let us know that his auto-renewal of MobileMe triggered this week and charged his checking account as usual -- then the charge was immediately refunded back to his account. Odd, to say the least.
If anyone else has noticed this please let us know. We'll have more information about iCloud in a few hours.

My MobileMe family account auto-renewed just TWO weeks ago. After iCloud was announced I asked for a refund and was told I could only get one if I cancel my account and lose mine and my family's long-time email accounts, backups, calendars, web sites, syncing... all the things that someone walking into Apple for the first time gets for free. Refunds should extend at least 30 days. This is such an epic failure.
I just renewed mine a month or so ago, I'll be a little salty if I don't get refunded for it and they make the service free. I guess we'll see what's going to happen in a few hours once WWDC begins.
Actually mine is always renewed on January. I just check mu account and it says "Your subscription will renew on Apr 1, 2012"
So I guess I got 5 free months :)
