Apple may support FaceTime over 3G in iOS 5 according to an alert found in the first beta.
When accessing the FaceTime settings menu without having a network connection, Apple informs you that you must turn on cellular data or Wi-Fi to use FaceTime.
FaceTime Unavailable Turn on cellular data or use Wi-Fi to use FaceTime.
It's thought that if Apple does enable FaceTime over 3G that carriers will still have the option to enable or disable the feature as they do with tethering.

who cares i been doing facetime literally from my boat on the water
also facetime on 3g sux @ss pretty much always its choppy laggy pixelated and sux
not missing anything to be honest

i'd be done with JB needs if this came onboard. Mywi and my3gs (or face break) are the only things I use. That and lock info .. checking notifications may even fit that need. WOW
