Best Buy will match Apple's Back to School special by giving a $100 Best Buy Gift Card to eligible customers, according to MacRumors.
Apple recently launched their 2011 Back to School promotion. Instead of the typical iPod giveaway, Apple is now offering a $100 iTunes/App Store gift card instead. We've been told that Best Buy will be matching this promotion with a $100 Best Buy gift card for the same qualifying customers. This is an unadvertised promotion, so customers will have to ask for it specifically.

It is true.. I got mines from best buy yesterday. i got the 100$ off for being a student and also they gave me a 100$ best buy gift card. They take the 100$ off the original price, not the sale price that they have going at the moment.

Best Buy in Denver, CO confirmed that they will match both the ed. discount price as well as the $100 gift card. They also are willing to give some $60 off of a $150 HP printer with the purchase. I'm hoping to get them to give the $60 off an iPod in addition to the $100 gift card instead of the printer...

...and you have to ask specifically for both the discount as well as the gift card/printer deal...they won't offer it...

Isn't it supposed to start close to September? Some kids are still in school before their holidays start. Now we start seeing 2012 car models in late 2010, Black Friday several times per year, back to school promo while kids are still in school.. What's wrong with you people??? :)))))))))

Believe it or not we do give students the apple education discount. All you have to do is mention it and show your school ID.
