Apple.pro has posted photos of what claims to be an iPhone 4GS test device, reports MacRumors.
The device is said to have 32GB of storage, a 5.0MP camera, and run iOS 4.0.
Based on the serial number and firmware version, initial consensus seems to be that this is a early iPhone 4 rather than a prototype of an upcoming device.
Take a look at the photos below and let us know what you think!

It wouldn't be called a '4Gs', because the last one wasn't a 4G phone. It's just the 4th iPhone, so it's the iPhone 4. If they did an 's' version, it'd probably be the '4s'.
Also I don't think they'd do a '4s' version. The 3Gs was partially to get the naming scheme back on track with the generations, as the iPhone '3'G, was actually the 2nd generation iPhone (they did this because at the time it was very important to emphasize that it was a 3G device). By adding the 3Gs, they could then add the iPhone 4 and have it be the 4th generation iPhone, and I don't think they'd throw the naming scheme off again just to make an interim version, as that's just not how Apple works.

a tad bit faster at startup. 1 minute more in battery. Cost= $299 with a new 2 year contract. plus it can make you fly.

The first image is fake also. If some had the device and wanted to leak the photos why would they leak them like that with an iTunes summery picture.

Because the software reflects a different picture of the device on iTunes, i.e. the picture does not look like the shape of the device itself..
