Tiny Umbrella is has been updated with iOS 4.3.5 support and the ability to update your iPhone 4 baseband.
I'll probably regret this but this newest version of TU (5.00.07) will allow you to choose whether or not to update your iPhone 4's baseband.
This new feature comes with a catch: 1. First, the version you WANT to restore to and the version Apple is currently signing must BOTH have the same baseband. This is important or else the baseband update will not work and you will get a 10xx error and need to use fixrecovery. (Works for iPhone 4 - will not work for iPad 2) 2. Second, you need to realize that checking the box WILL UPDATE YOUR BASEBAND. 3. Third, I'm working on a simple tool that will allow you to create a pseudo-custom firmware mixing a new baseband with an older iOS version (one that is jailbreakable for example). This feature exists in the TinyUmbrella rewrite but does not yet exist in the older codebase. SORRY! I'm working on it!
You can download TinyUmbrella from the link below and find instructions on how to use it here: (Mac, Windows)
Reminder: Don't update your baseband if you want to unlock!

Hi guys,
I am about to use TU 5.00.07 to save my shsh blob for my 3gs. There are two check boxes that I am not sure about.
1- Set host to cydia on exit --> shoud I check or not check this box?
2- request shsh from cydia ---> should this box be checked or unchecked?
Thanks.

Everything is getting way to complicated now, i have been jailbreaking etc since the 1st JB was released back in the day, (even making £200+ profit selling jailbroken iphones on ebay). but i think the days are gone where you can just simply jb and most definitely have the days gone of an unofficial unlock!

I agree with you wezzy,I used to jailbreak all my friends iPhones and iPods..takes 15 minutes no BS shshs baseband update.
It used to be even if you have updated your baseband a week later dec team would release an unlock those days are gone.
Eveything is so hard, just to use our devices the way we want them to

I saw the update this morning and I'm still a little confused by it. Will this allow you to update to iOS 5 beta and preserve your baseband? Or does this only work on iOS4?
