Comex, the creator of the JailbreakMe and Spirit jailbreaks, is answering questions from the jailbreak community via a thread on Reddit.
As requested. Dunno if this is IAmA material, so I'll do it in /r/iphone.
I wrote most of JailbreakMe.com 2.0 and 3.0; before that I did Spirit and some Wii hax.
There was a Forbes article about me recently; I tend to get embarrassed by media coverage but it's accurate enough.
As I recently tweeted, I am starting an internship with Apple, but I can't answer questions about that, only about past stuff.

Have you made any money from the jb scene?

I've made a good amount of money through donations, which is mostly being used to help pay for college. JailbreakMe 2.0 was like $40,000; 3.0 was $15,000 (not quite sure why it decreased). ----

Wait until he spills his guts to Apple, will the jailbreak scene survive?

He failed to "accept" it because you "failed" to send it to the right address... If you have a paypal account and someone sends you money you don't have to "accept" it even if you ("expect" it?)...

Sorry, "accept". (dutch)
Used the donate link from the official Jailbreakme site so I'm sure that was correct.
However, sad to see him leave the JB scene.
