iPhone 4S pre-orders are now starting to show that they've been 'Prepared for Shipment', bringing us one step closer to the October 14th delivery date. The orders previously showed a status of 'Processing'.
'Prepared for Shipment' is the final stage before the iPhone is sent out. Hopefully we will see orders arriving early like last year's iPhone 4!
Note: These order status changes are only for Apple.com orders. AT&T, Verizon and Sprint orders have a different tracking process.

Update: It looks as if the order status is changing by model rather than order time, starting with 16GB first.

Where have all the stories on the iPhone 5 that we should have got gone. Have all the informants gone to ground are all the reliable sources wrong and ashamed or has Steve's passing caused them all into a state of remorse. I want my iPhone 5 not a sad excuse for a new model that has less glamour than the 3GS

64GB black & 64GB white...showed shipped. Estimated delivery Oct 12...nah just kidding with you guys....both still in Preparing for shipment...

They won't start shipping until about 2-3 days before the launch date.
FYI AT&T uses Fedex second day air service.

I sure hope I get it a day early like last year! I work on the 14th 40 miles away from my house so it's going to be a loooong day if I can't get it early lol
