Apple is switching to improved power and USB cables that are halogen-free and friendlier to the environment, reports This Is London.
When halogen cables are disposed of by incineration they release toxic fumes that are dangerous to humans and the environment.
Volex, a company 23% owned by billionaire Nat Rothschild, makes the cables used for Apple products including MacBooks, iPhones and iPads. It's spending $6 million in design and start-up costs for the new cables.

Why don't they first rethink how not to make a new aluminium body each time you change a macbook unibody keyboard? And this keyboard that is made of 3 sheets of nylon ends up costing you $250! This is a very expensive plastic bag change! And the worst ecological keyboard repair ever in history! So Apple please stop saying that you are a green company!

Stop complaining! If you don't like the cost of Apple products you can always get a non-Apple one. For $299 you can get yourself a nice Acer laptop. It might work poorly, but you are going to be happy with the keyboard replacement price.

Ok let's talk about fan speed of macbook unibody. It makes me mad! This billion dollar company can't fix this poor fan speed that is doing whatever it wants. 70 degrees cel. 6200rpm next 77 degrees cel. 2400rpm in OSX. Brand new installation of windows 7 nothing running but fan speed 6000-6500rpm? Why? To show how bad windows is? No! This is intentional of apple to make windows look bad! Whatever other machine will not run its fans as hovercraft! The new design of apple macbook power button is to be part of the fragile 3 layer nylon keyboard so that when you spill liquid just as little to burn just the keyboard you burn the way to the power button and you can't switch it off or you can't power on. And you are forced to spend $500-$1000 for unnecessary parts replacement even if you decide to use it as home theater or with external keyboard you are messed up because you can't power it on/off! I love apple but they made me crazy!

Then try to use it. Open a program! Try it on windows. All my macbooks unibody are poor quality! So let me try yours. And do you remember the ipod battery gate?
