The KAIST Institute of Information Technology Convergence has posted a video demonstrating their Smart E-Book Interface Prototype on an iPad.
The iPad implementation uses private APIs so unfortunately it wouldn't be approved for sale on the App Store, notes MacRumors.
The new gestures shown include:
- Page Flipping, by spreading pages and then flipping through
- Page Flipping with finger bookmarking
- Multiple page turning using multiple fingers
- Faster swipes turning multiple page
- Longer presses, then swiping can turn multiple pages
- Writing the page number
