Apple is launching its new iPad in 10 countries on March 16th and other 26 countries on March 23rd.
Pre-orders are live for those in the first batch of countries but you will have a hard time getting your order processed as Apple's servers are being hammered.
Here's the list of countries:
March 16th: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia.
I think it's interesting they aren't releasing it in China, likely due to their Provue lawsuit. That's also likely why they didn't name it. Note the don't list any name on the box except for a removable label. It looks like their covering themselves for whichever way the lawsuits goes, but I can't picture the iOS fans in China reacting kindly to a bankrupt Chinese company that isn't actually producing anything keeping them from access the newest technilogical device.
most likely the reason although mainland china is always the last one to get it from the past. maybe it's part of marketing having the apple zombies frothing at the mouths.
i'm from the u.s., live here in shanghai and traveled all over the world. no other place has such a saturation that i have seen with apple products. from poor kids to finance managers. all cafes are filled with macairs and iPads. macpros are scarce because it's old.
hk will end up a mob because people will want to the resell it in the mainland.
I feel your dilemma. I'm happy with my iPad 2 and apple tv 720. If I were you just save your money for the upcoming iPhone "The new iPhone" :) with A5X with 4G LTE.
Now that's worth waiting and upgrading for.
Will some one tell me why one should buy this new iPad? The best deals are now on the iPad2...In my opinion, there wasn't much to make it worth the upgrade. Same with the new AppleTV. I like my "now last generation" one just fine. Da?!
