Shipments of the new Apple TV have started to arrive a day earlier than expected, reports AppleInsider.
AppleInsider received its own Apple TV, and numerous readers also wrote in to share that they, too, had received their order in the mail on Thursday. The new Apple TV shipments are arriving early, while carriers are still holding shipments of the new iPad for delivery on the official launch Friday.
The new Apple TV supports 1080p video and high profile H.264 video thanks to a new A5 processor.

Yup yup. I got my new 1080p Apple TV 3 a few hours ago. iTunes even has TONS of TV shows in 1080p. What I really want to work is AirPlay Mirroring between OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion and the new Apple TV and iOS 5.1, both of which are required for mirroring the entire Mac desktop to an HDTV or projector! I haven't gotten it to work just yet. Grrr...
