Gevey has released the Ultra 5.1 to unlock the GSM iPhone 4 on iOS 5.1.
The new GEVEY Ultra unlocks your GSM iPhone 4 running iOS 5.1 and earlier and now supports modem firmware versions 1.59, 2.10, 3.10.1, 4.10.1, 4.11.08, and 4.12.01. Currently, a tethered Jailbreak is available for iOS 5.1 for iPhone 4, and you will also need to install the latest Furious Mod file for proper operation.

DOESNT support basebands 4.11.08, and 4.12.01, according to applenberry.com's own description of the Gevey sim.
Check your baseband, before trying this product

I never buy original gevey cards, they are simply way too expesive, I buy and resell them at my store in my area. I buy all of them from ebay and they are usually never official gevey cards, however I have had 1 or 2 out of 100 customers come back with signal issues. I buy them for $5 each and resell for $20 which is reasonable. I recomend this over the SAM unlock as it is not an actual unlock, while you can use any sim card with it, its much more of a hassle for those who frequently change their sim cards since SAM unlock is a per sim unlock, that is why the gevey unlock is a more ideal unlock method for international users

6italia0,
Redsnow can solve the issue of sim card swap.

I guess that within days/weeks we'll see a tool that can reload different, previously saved Lockdown files so SIMs can be swapped easily (which has never been really easy with gevey anyhow).

It just got a whole lot easier (from clarified)
Sam Bingner has released an update to SAM that makes unlocking your iPhone even easier. The new method does not require your original SIM or iTunes.
I just pushed an update for SAM-Put in SIM you want to work, select orig carrier (or auto), click "Try Activation" under "Utils" and done
Bingner also notes that he will be updating SAM with the ability to save unlock tickets...
Next up - proper backup support or multiple tickets - then restore support with options.

@Tom & Fernando
Finding the carrier isnt hard. Just set the search on auto. I knopw how long i waited for Gevey Sim to bring out one just to buy them. instead they brought out an upgraded version of the BB for the ip4S and kept mum on the ip4.
Now they are coming out with tons of reasons why this Gevey sim would work....an guess what......on all unlockable BB on the ip4...........Wrong timing.
I would prefer to donate that $49.99 to the guys who developed SAM & RedSn0w than give the money to Gevey

These Gevey cards are unreliable ..I bought one you loose signal at all the time..
Of course it was used with the worst carrier T-MOBILE..its not always about $$.
Its about the service .
Don't buy these cards ..
Sam is available for free and reliable and great resale value .
I bet these GEVEY cards will be soon on ebay for $1

I would disagree wit you about T-Mobile being the worst carrier, true you only get 2G edge data, however I have experienced no issues with them in the 2 1/2 years i've been with them. I am currently using a factory unlocked 32GB iPhone 4S that I bought directly from apple to use specifically on T-Mobile USA. Before when I was still using an iPhone 4 that was JB unlocked I thought about switching to AT&T, I wasn''t sure and wanted to continue with T-Mobile for a bit, but thought I would go to AT&T anyway to look at my options and then I asked about using facetime while with T-Mobile, thats when I was told to get out of their store by the AT&T rep just because I had T-Mobile. Now verizon and sprint are available options, but they are either ridiculously overpriced or just plain shitty. I have absolutely no problem using T-Mobile on my 4S with 2G edge data as I get all my calls and text, I get all my e-mails and gps is very accurate and I get better signal than AT&T in most places. But thats just me

Hahaha... A little too late for that Gevey makers. With the new free SAM unlock procedure, we can unlock any iphone under any BB. I am on iphone4 bb4.11.08 and before the discovery of SAM unlock procedure i used to have a Gevey Sim. But now I threw it away, coz my idevice is already unlocked using the SAM technique..😄

Ooooftalk about bad market timing; why spend $49 when you can unlock for free with SAM?
I used an earlier Gevey ULTRA model and it was a continuing PITA with signal dropouts and tiresome procedure that might or might not get a signal back.

Strange that the new Gevey requires a Jailbreak and is announced just 1 day after SAM...Anyways SAM is easy, and finding your iPhone's carrier is simple... Call Apple :P
