RussianiPhone.ru is claiming that they have seen iPhone 2.2.1 Beta 1 and it includes push notification and over the air MobileMe syncing with Notes support.
They have posted a screenshot showing update badges on the Notes and Calendar icons; however, this could be easily faked.
If any more information is uncovered regarding the validity of these claims we will post it immediately.
**UPDATE** This has now been marked as fake on the RussianiPhone.ru site
**CORRECTION** The original poster of this news article mentioned the site iPhoneHellas.gr as a Russian site which is incorrect. It is a Greek site. iPhoneHellas had correctly published information regarding the 2.2 iPhone firmware release.

I believe nobody in their right mind and especially those that have been around would have believed that iPhoneHellas was a Russian site. At least, not I. But for a moment, I was like, hey what the *#$% is this? Thanks for the correction/confirmation :) The Greeks rock :) Thanks for the noise :)

Push performance is much better on 2.2, finally! I discovered that on day one after upgrading. I just hope they don't screw it up with 2.2.1
