For those of you that think Apple is gonna call the next iPhone the 'iPhone 6', I think that's highly unlikely. Apple isn't going to jump from the iPhone 4S to the iPhone 6. If they use a number it will be called the iPhone 5. It doesn't matter that it will be the sixth generation device. It's all about marketing. 5 is after 4. The 'new iPhone' is a much more likely name considering the 'new iPad'. Another possibility is the 'iPhone HD' if Apple increases the screen size to a 16:9 format. 'iPhone 4G' is unlikely due to the dilution of the '4G' term thanks to AT&T and others, plus it doesn't signify enough change.
That won't work. It probably won't support 4G in some markets just like the iPad 3 couldn't support lte in Australia which led apple to change the name to wifi cellular instead of iPad wifi lte.
Wtf we all know the new iPhone will be out soon, what will it be called iPhone? who really cares. The point from this add is its from 3 and they are going to give you a great deal. Crap crap network want to get that right first. I cant wait for the next iPhone but it wont be no bloody 3 for sure.
In what way does this man's statement confirm the next iPhone and why would that be considered news when we all know the next iPhone is coming VERY soon. Hell, anybody could make that statement.
FALSE!
1st. iPhone 2G. 2ND iPhone 3G. 3Rd iPhone 3GS 4.Th iPhone 4 CURRENT iPHONE 4S is the iPhone5 its the 5TH IPHONE!!!!
1St iPhone was called 2G because of 2nd generation INTERNET/DATA Network it used.
2nd iPhone 3G was called "3"g was because of the 3RD generation INTERNET/DATA network that it worked on
3rd.iPhone 3GS was just called S because of "SPEED" it was faster 3G iPhone
4th iPhone 4 was actually called 4 because it was the 4th Generation iPhone.
5th iPhone 4S was just called S because of "SPEED" it was faster iPhone 4.
NEXT MODEL WILL BE the 6TH. the # 5 HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING.
Well, you're sort of correct. The new iPhone will not be called iPhone 5. As far as the naming of previous iPhones goes, you're almost correct. The 1st iPhone was 1st gen and used iOS 1. The 2nd gen was the iPhone 3G and used iOS 2. The 3rd gen was iPhone 3GS and its name was in-line with the new iOS 3. With the 4th gen, Apple continued to align the phone name with iOS name. Thus the 4th gen phone was called iPhone 4 in-line with iOS 4. The 5th gen phone introduced iOS 5, but was named iPhone 4S. The next iPhone cant be called iPhone 5 because it's the 6th gen and because iOS 6 will be released at the same time. The new iPhone will also NOT be called iPhone 6 because that would be confusing and wouldn't make much marketing sense. It's highly likely they will go with 'The New iPhone' as the name......similar to Apple's designation for the latest iPad.
