iPhone Dev-Team Reveals How the iPhone Was Hacked

The iPhone Dev-Team has revealed how the iPhone was hacked in an hour long video presentation at the Chaos Communication Congress in Berlin.

This was the first time many of the team had met together offline and the video provides a very detailed explanation of the groups history and work.

Interestingly they note that at least 180 people with Apple corporate IPs update their phones using PwnageTool software on a regular basis

@Steve I commend your choice to step down. Jailbreaking does require a certain level of metal acuity and technical savvy. Look at the bright side, youll be able to channel all your rage into more the important areas of your life = ) Dev Team presentation is interesting and exciting. However, ominous feeling that this is bringing a close to this chapter. Hopefully, as always they have charted their new direction. Just wouldnt be iPhone without the Dev Team. They have generated more interest and sold more iPhones than Apple could have ever dreamed. Without their support and selfless contributions we would have never truly actualized the amazing potential of this amazing device. Cheers to the Dev team for all they have done for iPhone and for all of us!

you mad re unlocking pointless too why wouls you buy a phone say off ebay costing more than 350 pounds then unlock it tonight you would have to purchase bolt on for the internet also credit the phone up every week too on a contract there everything is inclusive i suppose if your to young for a contract it be ideal for a kid the unlock only i have jailbroke my phone last night to prove a point yes i have proved it bia takes over 25 seconds to boot tv showking does not boot at all the whole phone in general slow down treacle speed with jailbreak be unjailbreaking today want my fast offical phone back today

Still all pointless when jailbreaking is so crap on 2.2 offical apps crash all the time hundreds a day unjailbrealing now cos it's so flawed

I'm sure there are others - like me - who've had little or no problems jailbreaking their iPhones (2Gs and 3Gs). Are you sure you were doing everything correctly? Were you using Cydia or Installer? I've had nearly zero problems jailbreaking since 1.1.3. Rajiv

@Steve I would never jailbreak unless I had separate iphone just for that. note they even can not get presentation right and that strange English accent makes me wonder what they mean by "unlocking". I bet it is all lip service.
