Snow Leopard adds a new networking feature which wakes your computer from sleep when its needed.
The feature called Wake on Demand works in conjunction with your base station. Snow Leopard lets your computer go to sleep while the base station continues to broadcast Bonjour messages about the services your sleep computer offers.
When one of these services is accessed the base station will send a signal to the sleeping computer over Ethernet or Wi-Fi to wake it up.

Have seen and used wake-on-lan functionality with Linux before, but only over Ethernet. Would be nice to have it wireless as well, though, so I guess that's an improvement.
