SMS Helper is a new application in Cydia which counts the characters as you write an SMS message.
The application created by Ryan Petrich and Open Hebrew places a current character count inside the blue send button. This way you can see if you have exceeded the 160 character maximum before sending the message.
SMS Helper is available from the BigBoss Cydia repository.
