Bill Gates has weighed in with his thoughts on the iPad and he is not that impressed.
He made these comments to Brent Schlender from Bnet.com.
You know, Im a big believer in touch and digital reading, but I still think that some mixture of voice, the pen and a real keyboard - in other words a netbook - will be the mainstream on that, he said. So, its not like I sit there and feel the same way I did with iPhone where I say, Oh my God, Microsoft didnt aim high enough. Its a nice reader, but theres nothing on the iPad I look at and say, Oh, I wish Microsoft had done it.
Truth be told there is nothing impressive about the iPad's hardware features. However, Apple has an amazing ability to generate huge publicity and will use that to get the device into the hands of many customers. After that it will be the thousands of developers Apple now has eagerly working for them that will make the iPad a success.

He is, however, impressed by the Zune and the new tablet PC that was introduced every week since the year 2000.
