
Apple Purchase of Chip Maker Intrinsity is Confirmed

Apple has confirmed to the New York Times that it finalized a deal to acquire Intrinsity, a small chip company.
Many analysts believe Intrinsity helped make the A4 chip used in the Apple iPad but Apple won't acknowledge this.
Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we do not comment on our purpose or plans, said Steve Dowling, a spokesman at Apple.
Tom R. Halfhill, an analyst with Microprocessor Report, believes the acquisition price was $121 million.
