Apple has seeded the third developer beta of macOS Tahoe 26.4 for testing, moving the operating system closer to a public launch.
The update carries build number 25E5223i and arrives just over a week after the second developer beta. It drops a day after corresponding third betas for iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, and visionOS.
So far, the macOS 26.4 testing cycle has centered on practical system refinements. The first beta introduced a long-requested Charge Limit feature in System Settings. It lets MacBook users manually cap charging anywhere between 80 and 100 percent, a useful option for machines that stay plugged in most of the time and need better long-term battery preservation.
While the 26.4 update delivers practical improvements, it appears to be missing the broader artificial intelligence overhaul many had anticipated for this spring. Major upgrades to Siri, including advanced conversational capabilities, have reportedly been pushed to a later release after Apple engineers encountered performance issues during internal testing.
Third betas typically concentrate on patching bugs discovered earlier in the testing phase rather than adding sweeping new features. We are currently installing the update and will highlight any significant changes if they are uncovered.
Developers can access the latest macOS restore image through the Apple Developer Center. The update is available directly via the Software Update menu in System Settings.
