Apple has seeded the second developer betas of iOS 26.6 and iPadOS 26.6 for testing. The updates arrive roughly three weeks after the company provided the initial test builds to its developer channel.
The new software carries build number 23G5043d. With Apple having recently unveiled iOS 27 at WWDC, active feature development on the iOS 26 branch is rapidly winding down. These late-stage software cycles typically prioritize underlying security patches, bug fixes, and general system stability over major user-facing capabilities as engineering focus shifts to the next major release.
Despite the focus on maintenance, the iOS 26.6 cycle will likely include a few minor functional additions. As noted during the initial beta release, Apple introduced a new system alert that triggers if a user hits the maximum capacity for blocked contacts.
Registered developers can access the new test builds over the air by navigating to the Software Update menu within the Settings app and ensuring the developer beta option is selected.
