Perceptive Automation has announced the immediate availability of Indigo Touch version 1.6, an update to the company's free iOS App for full control of the Indigo intelligent home control and automation server for Mac OS X. With Indigo Touch, users can easily control their lights, appliances, thermostats, lawn sprinklers and dozens of other items found in the home, from anywhere in the world.
New with this release is support for Apple's iPad and iOS 4 compatibility. iPad support includes using the full screen resolution which is especially useful for custom control pages. Control pages may now be designed to show more device and scene control elements as well as larger graphic elements without the need to scroll.
Indigo Touch also now supports improved gesture support for zooming in and out of custom control pages as well as new resizing heuristics to support the various devices with different screen resolutions and sizes. Other new functionality introduced in Indigo Touch 1.6 includes support for rotation to all device orientations, faster launch time, significantly improved battery usage when Indigo Touch is running and the device goes into sleep mode, improved UI as well as several bug fixes.
Pricing and Availability: As with all previous versions, Indigo Touch v1.6 is a free download from the iTunes App Store. Indigo Pro v4.1 is available now for $179.95 (USD) and Indigo Lite v4.1 for $89.95, both through the Perceptive Automation website. Owners of v4.0 can upgrade for free; owners of previous versions of Indigo can get an upgrade discount to Indigo v4.1. Also available online is a 30 day trial copy of Indigo Pro. Indigo runs on Mac OS X 10.4.11 or greater, and requires a supported INSTEON or X10 computer interface for controlling home lighting and appliance modules.
