Happy New Year! Today we are happy to release an updated version of Seas0nPass that supports an untethered jailbreak of the latest 4.4.4 (iOS 5.0.1) AppleTV software. Big thanks goes to the world famous @pod2g for doing the lion's share of the work to make this new version possible.

I was trying to jb my new apple tv 2 on a mac running lion, but i failed to put the apple tv on dfu mode.. after more then one hour of atempts i decided to do it on a mac running snow leopard.. same result..
then in a desprated move i tried to do it on a windows pc, and for my surprise it worked at the first attempt..!

To get XBMC to install from atv2 black flash 1.1.1 try this
ssh root@apple-tv
mkdir -p /private/var/Applications
cd /Applications
mv * /private/var/Applications
cd /
rmdir /Applications
ln -s /private/var/Applications /Applications
cd
apt-get update
apt-get install org.xbmc.xbmc-seatbeltunlock
wget http://mirror.netcologne.de/xbmc/nig...aster-atv2.deb
dpkg -i xbmc-20111020.bc49ac0-master-atv2.deb
apt-get install -f
Then install XBMC from ATV2

I've tried numerous times to install xbmc on all three of my atv2's using atv2 black flash 1.1.1. with no luck, error during install everytime :-(
untethered 4.4.4 atv2 black flash 1.1.1.

XBMC is more than enough. I don`t even use Plex....
