Apple Homepage is Updated to Feature Its '50 Billion Apps Countdown Promotion'

Apple today updated its homepage to feature its '50 Billion Apps Countdown Promotion'.

The page reads "Thanks to you, we're about to hit 50 billion app downloads."

It also has a rotating slideshow that features an iPad mini displaying imagery to accompany the following observations:


● With 50 billion bricks, you could build 12 Great Walls of China.
● Counting to 50 billion would take you 1600 years.
● With 50 billion steps, you could walk around the earch more than 800 times.

Apple will be awarding a $10,000 App Store Gift Card to the lucky customer who downloads the 50 billionth app, and a $500 App Store Gift Card to each of the next 50 people to download an app.
