T-Mobile Will Stop Carrying BlackBerry Smartphones In-Store

T-Mobile U.S. plans to stop carrying BlackBerry smartphones in its stores and will instead ship the devices directly to customers who order them, reports Reuters.

David Carey, executive vice president for corporate services told Reuters about the plan on Wednesday, a few days after BlackBerry said it would no longer market to consumers because of drastically weakening smartphone sales.

According to Carey, "keeping stock in the retail distribution system was inefficient" since they have not been in high demand and most BlackBerry devices are purchased by businesses and not in-store customers.

"Therefore we will display and sell it in the store for those consumers who would like to see one," he added.

BlackBerry announced a devastating loss of nearly $1 billion last quarter and just signed a letter of intent to be acquired by Fairfax for $4.7 billion.

RIM firing employees over ideas they had to better BB and stifling innovation before is the reason they are collapsing, too little too late for them. And for those who are asking what I'm talking about, there was a letter a RIM higher up sent out stating that they are killing themselves by firing people that have ideas, because everyone was then too afraid to be creative and show their own ideas for fear of being fired. The change in RIM came too late.

I meant until they stop trying to beat apple or if they run out of ideas unless they just make something useful for something else, like songs watch to their consoles for example!
