The new iPhones are said to feature a Super Retina XDR Display with a Ceramic Shield Front Cover, which is described as a ceramic substrate glass that increases the hardness and resistance to drop.
All four models are said to support 5G cellular service; however, currently only the U.S. model is said to support millimeter-Wave 5G. There will purportedly be a Smart Data Mode which switches between 4G and 5G depending on application bandwidth requirements, presumably to save power.
As rumored, Apple is not expected to provide a charger or EarPods in the box.
Deep Fusion and night scene modes have become better, Smart HDR also has a new upgrade, namely Smart HDR 3. All four devices can allegedly shoot Dolby Vision.
I’m glad I didn’t wait around for these handsets. I’ve bought the galaxy z fold 2 purely for the innovation but it’s actually also a really good phone with many gestures from iOS so feels like the best of both worlds. I hope iPhone 13 pushes some boundaries then I may be tempted back.
