Specs for the new 48MP wide camera rumored for the iPhone 14 Pro have allegedly been leaked on Weibo. According to MacRumors, the account frequently posts technical camera information but does not have a track record when it comes to Apple rumors.
User Fishing 8 posted the following information...
----- 48Mp 1/1.3 1.22um DPAF Dual 11/12Bit A/D Pixel-level Cu-Cu Bonding DRAM on chip
Notably, the pixel size of the lens is 1.22µm, down from 1.9µm on the iPhone 13 Pro. The sensor size is listed as 1/1.3". Compared to 1/1.65" on the iPhone 13 Pro, that's a significant increase in surface area.
Other highlights include the ability to record 16:9 12-bit HDR at 60fps and a Dual Pixel Auto Focus (DPAF) system which Apple refers to as Focus Pixels.
Recently, TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that the iPhone 14 Pro would get a larger camera bump to accommodate the new 48MP camera. He's also predicted that "the camera quality of the new 2H22 iPhone will elevate mobile phone camera photography to a new level."
