Apple is bringing the life of tennis legend Andre Agassi to the screen. The company has greenlit a new multi-part documentary series based on his 2009 memoir, "Open: An Autobiography," which is widely recognized for its unvarnished look at the physical and mental toll of professional tennis.

Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Chris Smith is attached to direct the project. Produced by Library Films, the series will also see Stacy Smith and Justin Gimelstob serve as executive producers. It aims to cover the full scope of Agassi's life, tracing his path from a young prodigy to a global icon and philanthropist.

The announcement comes as Apple continues to build out its library following the recent rebrand to Apple TV. Executives have signaled a more aggressive schedule for the coming year, targeting a new release almost every week. Sports narratives have become a key pillar of that strategy, sitting alongside major live rights packages like the exclusive U.S. Formula 1 coverage set to begin in 2026.
