Estas son las instrucciones de como hacer el jailbreak a tu iPhone 3GS con el firmware 4.3.3 usando RedSn0w para Windows. La version de Mac de este tutorial esta en here.

Si necesitas hacer unlock(desbloqueo/liberacion para tu proveedor de telefonia) NO ACTUALICES al iOS 4.3.3 ya que no hay unlock para esta version a menos que quieras utilizar el baseband de la Ipad.

IMPORTANTE PARA LOS UNLOCKERS
Durante este proceso vas a actualizar tu baseband a la version 06.15. Si tienes la version 05.14, 05.15 o superior, tendras que hacer este unlock. No es necesario si solo necesitas el jailbreak. Por favor lee con mucho cuidado lo siguiente antes de decidir si procedes o no. Puedes encontrar la version de baseband en here.

1. No hay forma de regresar de la version de baseband 06.15, y no hay forma de ocultarle a Apple esta version. Estaras anulando tu garantia en una forma muy obvia.
2. Si en algun momento sale una version de baseband con alguna reparacion critica, no podras actualizar a ella si esta permanece en la misma sequencia de 05.xx (por lo tanto, no podras actualizar a ella si quieres mantener tu unlock).
3. A partir del firmware 4.2.1 si tienes el baseband 06.15 en tu iPhone no podras volver a restaurar de fabrica el firmware (porque fallara). Solo podras hacerlo a travez de los custom IPSWs (nuevamente, si tienes el unlock esto ya lo haces).
4. Hay reportes de que con la baseband 06.15 puede dañar el GPS. El iPhone Dev-Team esta trabajando en la reparacion.

No actualizes a la 06.15 si no lo necesitas! Solo si necesitas el unlock y estas detenido con las versiones 05.14 o 05.15, y si estas dispuesto a asumir los riesgos mencionados. Si tu baseband ya esta liberado y estas en una version de firmware inferior entonces utiliza PwnageTool para llegar a la 4.3.3 sin actualizar tu baseband.

Paso 1
Crea un directorio en tu escritorio llamado Pwnage

Descarga RedSn0w desde here y colocalo en el directorio Pwnage. Igualmente, descarga la ultima version del firmware 4.3.3 desde la siguiente ruta y colocalo en el mismo directorio.

4.3.3 (3GS): iPhone2,1_4.3.3_8J2_Restore.ipsw

Extrae el archivo RedSn0w.zip al mismo directorio.

Paso 2
Conecta tu iPhone a la maquina y ejecuta iTunes.

Selecciona tu iPhone de la lista de dispositivos de la izquierda. Ahora presiona y manten presionado Shift y da click en el boton Restore. Restaurar es mejor ya que no desperdiciara espacio en tu iphone.

Navega al directorio Pwnage en tu escritorio y selecciona el firmware 4.3.3, Click en el boton Open para continuar.

Paso 3
Una vez que iTunes ha finalizado de actualizar el iphone con la version deseada abre el directorio Pwnage que creaste antes y ejecuta redsn0w.

**Windows 7 Necesitan ejectuar RedSn0w en compatibilidad con Visat (Vista compatibility mode). Haz esto dando click derecho sobre el ejecutable y selecciona Properties desde el menu

Paso 4
Ya que abrio Redsnow da click sobre Browse

Paso 5
Selecciona el firmware 4.3.3 firmware ipsw que descargaste en el directorio Pwnage y haz click en Open.

Te preguntara si es de un modelo reciente. Si el tuyo lo es entonces haz click en Yes; de lo contrario en No.

Paso 6
Una vez que lo verifico haz click en Next para continuar.

Paso 7
RedSn0w prepara los datos del jailbreak.

Paso 8
Desde esta ventana seleccionas las opciones que quieras de jailbreak.

Verbose boot muestra la informacion detallada de el inicio en el dispositivo y generalmente solo es necesario para desarrolladores y usuarios avanzados.

Asegurate de seleccionar Cydia. para este tutorial tambien seleccionaremos Custom boot logo y Custom recovery logo.

Cuando selecciones custom logo tendras la posibilidad de seleccionar una imagen. Selecciona la imagen deseada y presiona el boton Open.

*Recuerda que las reglas para logos son: RGB o escala de grises con canal Alpha y las dimensiones de maximo 320x480. Si quieres logos de iClarified los encuentras aqui: Boot Logo, Recovery Logo

Si ya leiste las advertecias de arriba y quieres actualizar el baseband a 06.15 de la version de Ipad para el unlock entonces selecciona Install iPad Baseband. Click en Yes para confirmar tu decision.

Click en Next para continuar.

Paso 9
Conecta tu iPhone y asegurate que este apagado y da click en Next.

Paso 10
RedSn0w te guiara a travez de los pasos para poner el modo DFU. Puedes encontrar mas informacion de como poner el modo DFU en here

Manten presionado el boton Home y el boton de Power por 10 segundos.

Suelta el boton de Power y manten presionado Home hasta que RedSn0w detecte el dispositivo.

Paso 11
Tu iPhone se reiniciara

Paso 12
RedSn0w comenzara a cargaren nuevo disco y kernel.

Paso 13
Una vez terminado RedSn0w te avisara que ya finalizo. Click en Finish. Cuando tu iPhone termine de iniciar (5 minutos mas o menos) tendras el jailbreak con Cydia en el SpringBoard.

**Usuarios de Windows 7 deben de correr RedSn0w como administrator en modo de compatibilidad de Windows Vista o XP.

The last version that is redsn0w 0.9.6rc19 doesnt have an option to select to "upgrade ipad baseband". Also redsn0w 0.9.6rc16 has a option but it cannot fetch the ipad baseband? Any help? My phone is running on 4.3.3 and has baseband 5.16.02. I have to upgrade baseband to 06.15 to unlock.

Same here: iPhone 3GS, built on week 21/2010, iOS 4.3.3 non-jailbroken, baseband 05.16.02. Need to upgrade to ipad baseband (even with the downsides), so I can unlock it. Which version of redsn0w should I use to accomplish both jailbreak and upgrade baseband? Thanks in advance.

Hello, I am trying to update my iPhone 3GS (current version is 3.1.3 and baseband is 5.12.01) to iOS 4.3.3. The current version is already jailbroken. I am following the steps mentioned in the in the site (How to Jailbreak Your iPhone 3GS Using RedSn0w (Windows) [4.3.3]) but getting an error message "this device isn't eligible for the requested build. 4.3.3". I have also checked the hosts file but there doesnt exists any gs.apple.com entry. The only entry exists in the host file is : 127.0.0.1 localhost ::1 localhost Kindly help me out of this error. I am stuck in the step 2 and not able to proceed. Kindly guide me. Thanks in advance

hi, i have an iphone 3gs 4.1 with firmware 6.15.00...is it possible for me to upgrade my iphone to 4.3??? with my baseband I'm just not sure if its possible or not, thats why i need to be sure..

Hi , I have a 3GS. It was with 4.2.1 I have upgrade to ipad BB to unlock it. Now I have decided to upgrade to 4.3.3 as it is untethered jailbreak. I created a custom firmware using sn0wbreeze and restore via itunes. I got errors like 3128, 600x and finally i got a 1015 error. After this my iphone is always in DFU mode (Black screen). Now if i tried with a 4.2.1 firmware i got the error 28 and if I try with 4.3.3 i am getting 600x error. The phone is always in black screen. If i used the fixrecovery4.3 , it is not doing anything and if i use fixrecovery4.2.1 i got a bright lcd screen and agin it went to black screen. Please let me know ho to solve this?

Hi I have a 3GS with OS 4.01 and BB 5.13.04 which is unlocked and JB. Can somebody please help me on what are the step to be followed so that it wont upgrade to BB 6.15 and gets JB. Thanks in advance

itunes says,"The ipone 'andrew's iphone' could not be restored. An unknown error occured (3194)." What do i do? I have the correct firmware downloaded but it wont let me restore to it.

Hi, I have a 3GS with baseband 5.14 and 4.1 os. I restored to the latest 4.3 as mentioned in the article in iclarified to unlock. However it was asking me to insert a valid sim to activate. I dont have an ATT SIM. I was using this phone just using Wifi and am in a different country. The restore didnt make any mention of having a valid SIM inserted. I was able to restore by following the procedure but not checking the update ipad baseband. Then I used itunes to get the backup file I had created. A few questions: So, once I update to 6.15 baseband, can I still restore using the same backup? Or do I need to store a custom IPSW and if so how do I do it? Can I still unlock if I dont have an ATT sim? thanks kapil

Unfortunately I didnt get any direct help. But from reading a some guess work I finally got this unlocked. Followed the above procedure to get jailbroken and cydia first. Then updated the ipad baseband. When updating kept an ATT card inside(got it from a colleague as I am not in US) Its now unlocked. 2 issues: GPS works sometimes. Its not unusable, but not accurate either and sometimes doesnt work. The battery drains very quickly (need to recharge every night)

its doesn't need to use ATT sim cards. ato Redsn0w remember chose "install Cydia" & " ipad basemand" it will ulock your iphone, n ipad basemand use for unlock your carrier ( at cydia search ultrasn0w for unlock carrier) hope it will help.

you should "install ipad basemand" after that at cydia search "ultrasn0w" to unlock your carrier.

I HAVE IPHONE 3GS OLD BOOTROM IM USING NON OFFICIAL NETWORK AND DEPEND ON UNLOCK... MY IPHONE VERSION WAS 3.1.3. I RESTORED IT TO 4.3.3 LAST NIGHT... I STUCK AT JAILBREAK PART REDSN0W FREEZE AT RAMDISK FIRST.. IRESTORED AGAIN AND AGAIN NOW I CHECKED THE IPAD VERSION FOR UNLOCK OT FREEZE AGAIN ON THIS PART.. I was able to get it to work. I have a iPhone 3GS updated with 4.3.3 firmware and base band of 05.16.02. If you plan to unlock, you will have to intall the 06.15.00 base band first. I would recommend doing so locally (http://www.beijingiphonerepair.com/hack/fetch-or-download-ipad-baseband-6-15-00-without-internet-connection-local-computer/). After that is complete, then proceed to the jailbreak steps. It took my two weeks to figure it out and 10 minutes to actually jailbreak and unlock the iPhone.

Hi Ashish, Did you need the ATT SIm card to unlock? Also, if something goes wrong what are the steps to restore your iphone to a working condition even if its still locked?
