MobileMe users who migrate to iCloud may retain their 20GB of yearly storage, reports 9to5Mac.
All individual MobileMe accounts included 20GB of storage per year, leading some users to be concerned about iCloud base storage of 5GB. These users should not fear, though, as Apple is letting users keep the 20GB of MobileMe storage and is adding it to the 5GB that already come with iCloud. Furthermore, users who migrate from MobileMe will get 25GB of iCloud storage from the start, and will not have to worry about paying an extra fee.
Apple hasn't confirmed this directly as far as we know, so it may be possible that 20GB will expire when the rest of MobileMe's services do, at the end of June 2012.
Earlier today Apple enabled a migration tool for developers to move their MobileMe accounts to iCloud.
Here's the problem... IF you have visions of sugar plums all afloat in your heads about iCloud, here's a jolt back to reality. IF your Mac (s) aren't running LION then - NO iCLOUD... NADA.....ZIP....
Looks like the wizards in Cupertino don't think that the millions of us that can't upgrade to LION aren't worth the time.... truly sux...
Great, another major player in the clouds. So when will the rates per GB drop ? It is as if everyone is waiting for google to upset the market again, like they did with gmail...you all recall how Yahoo and Hotmail measured our inboxes in megabytes, then google offered mind-blowing gigabytes, and the market never looked back?
Soon, childrens!
