HP Could Resurrect the TouchPad

After announcing the discontinuation of the TouchPad and a $99 fire sale on the device, HP is now saying that it could resurrect the tablet, according to Reuters.

Personal Systems Group (PSG) head Todd Bradley told Reuters in an interview that even if HP spins off its PC Business it will remain number one in the world.

Bradley said the company could resurrect HP's short-lived TouchPad tablet computer, which was introduced on July 1 before being terminated only about six weeks later.


"Tablet computing is a segment of the market that's relevant, absolutely," Bradley said.


Perhaps HP feels that selling its device at a loss might be worth capturing some market share.

You have to sell your tablet at a loss it your are bringing in a new OS this late in to the game. You need to flood the market with your OS so more and more developers develop for your platform.
