Detalhes do exploit ainda estão sendo reunidos; contudo, parece que GeoHot conseguiu inserir um comando no iBoot fazendo com que as assinaturas digitais (sigchecks) possam ser contornadas (obrigado mav). Este pode ser um inicio para o Jailbreak do iPhone 3GS (N88AP), que já foi batizado de purplera1n (chuva roxa).
GeoHot já ativou o domínio purplera1n.com que por enquanto não tem nada alem de uma imagem estatica.
A boa notícia é que se o Jailbreak for bem sucedido o desbloqueio UltraSn0w também deve ser compatível com o iPhone 3GS.
Se alguém puder decifrar a imagem abaixo por favor poste nos comentários e nós atualizaremos o artigo conforme novas informações forem descobertas.

This news makes my day! I've been checking like every hour for news on this since Friday. I'm going crazy waiting for a jailbreak for my 3G S. Seriously, without it, I think I would downgrade back to my old 3G.

is it unloack one and works with any sim like mine in libya .. or it just work with o2 .. thanks
I would say it's locked to O2. If it's a 3G, you can unlock with software. If it's 3GS, you're out of luck. Your only hope is to wait for jailbreak or buy a turbosim (rebel) that works with 3.0.
Hi, in case some of you want some clarification on the image, from my understanding, he managed to execute the echo command on the phone, which means the next command (in simple terms) could be install Custom Firmware, obv its more complicated then this, but thats just to get an idea.
