Apple has released the official trailer for "Star City," its highly anticipated alternate-history space drama that expands the world of "For All Mankind." The eight-episode series will make its global debut on Apple TV+ on Friday, May 29.
Created by Ben Nedivi, Matt Wolpert, and Ronald D. Moore, the series shifts perspective to the opposite side of the space race. The story revisits a defining moment in the timeline, when the Soviet Union became the first nation to put a man on the moon. This time, it explores the story from behind the Iron Curtain, following the lives of the cosmonauts, engineers, and intelligence officers working within the Soviet space program.
The ensemble cast includes Rhys Ifans, Anna Maxwell Martin, Agnes O'Casey, Alice Englert, Solly McLeod, Adam Nagaitis, Ruby Ashbourne Serkis, Josef Davies, and Priya Kansara. Wolpert and Nedivi serve as showrunners and executive producers alongside Moore, Maril Davis, Andrew Chambliss, and Steve Oster. The project is produced for Apple by Sony Pictures Television.
This release expands the timeline established in the main series, arriving shortly after the launch of "For All Mankind" season five. Apple previously shared a first look at the spinoff with a teaser video last month.
"Star City" will premiere with its first two episodes on May 29, followed by one new episode every Friday through July 10.
