Apple has released new firmware updates for the AirPods Pro 3, AirPods Pro 2, and Beats Studio Buds.
The update brings AirPods Pro 3 to firmware version 8B41, up from 8B40, while AirPods Pro 2 moves from 8B39 to 8B41. Apple has also released Beats Studio Buds firmware version 1B211. As usual, the company has not provided detailed release notes, saying only that the updates include bug fixes and other improvements.
The release follows last week's developer beta firmware update that added support for new AirPods features coming with iOS 27. During WWDC 2026, Apple previewed custom EQ controls, GymKit support for AirPods Pro 3, and deeper integration with Siri AI. Apple recently released AirPods beta firmware 9A5292e for developers to support those upcoming capabilities.
Firmware updates install automatically in the background when AirPods or Beats earbuds are charging and within Bluetooth range of a connected iPhone, iPad, or Mac. There is no manual update button.
With today's release, the latest firmware versions across Apple's audio lineup are as follows:
• AirPods Max 2: 8E258 • AirPods Max (USB-C): 7E108 • AirPods Max (Lightning): 6F25 • AirPods Pro 3: 8B41 • AirPods Pro 2 with MagSafe Charging Case (USB-C): 8B41 • AirPods Pro 2 with MagSafe Charging Case (Lightning): 8B41 • AirPods Pro 1: 6F21 • AirPods 4: 8B39 • AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation: 8B39 • AirPods 3: 6F21 • AirPods 2: 6F21 • AirPods 1: 6.8.8 • Beats Studio Buds: 1B211
