Apple may have inadvertently leaked iTunes 8 to a few lucky users.
On Sunday a few people noticed a "Download Now" button in the middle of Apple's iTunes page which, if clicked, linked to a download for iTunes 8.0 rather than the usual 7.7.
Others noticed download button as well, but the file it linked to had been removed.
One user who successfully downloaded the update tells AppleInsider that the build appeared to be an unfinished release candidate but he won't share it because he's concerned about repercussions.
"Im not sure about the legality of releasing it to you guys yet," he explains. "I dont want any trouble from Apple."

How would he be in trouble by "releasing it"? Apple is the entity that released it whether they meant to or not. They may not like his sharing of the program but I really doubt that it would be considered illegal.
