Hi, it seems to me it does not work AFTER the iOS 5.1 release:-(. I am not able to restore iPad 2 running on 5.0.1. with iTunes and that is (probably) why the Absinthe does not finish (VPN does not start even after manual switch from Settings). any ideas? THX Tom

I was able to get the Absinthe icon installed until toggling the VPN but does not reboot after a minute so no Cydia installed as of now. :(

Same thing for me also. It is not working.

would this method work with ipad 1?

Same happened to me, but a Home+Power reboot did the trick. Dunno if will help.

Jailbreak works on my iPad 2, but the problem is: I cannot open my contacts! Pushing the icon makes the application start for like tenth of a second, then it crashes. Restarting the device did not help. Any idea?

I have successfully Jailbreak. VmWare WKS + MacOSX SnowLeopard Absinthe 2 hours of unsuccessful tries ... because of Micosoft Exchange Policy which requires passcode... (has to be turned off to successfully jailbreak). today morning successfully jailbroken. Unfortunately I have my email icon white ...

I've tried Rinstalled BigBoss Icon Set from Cydia twice, and all icons are correct now. :-) DON't know if this solved the problem or not, but now it seems fine. ;-)

After 14 hours trying , still no succes , turning on VPN does not restart my ipad automaticly ...

idk if anyone noticed but cydia is super fast.

I can't get it to open either. It shows application unexpectedly quit. Its prob cause the data is so busy with other jail breakers. Anybody know why?

Im trying to JB iPhone 4s and iPad 2. for some reason the process on Mac is getting freezer and not finishing JB. Any thoughts?

press home button once in while. that did the trick for me. when it first got frozen around at 20% since ipad was at slide to unlock i did that and progress bar started moving and it went to restoring screen on ipad. and than it got stuck there too so i waited but then just pressed home button once and it rebooted and finished the whole jailbreak.

Restore you iPad1/Iphone4S after a clean restore don't initiate any set up and don't restore you iPad or iPhone after it's been completely done..Then try to jailbreak at this point...It worked perfectly for you...After you have jailbroken your devices then restore everything from iTunes Hope this helps
