Ryan Petrich Releases Patch to Fix SSL Vulnerability in iOS

Posted February 24, 2014 at 7:06am by iClarified
Ryan Petrich has released a patch to fix the SSL vulnerability in iOS 6.x and 7.x.

Apple recently released iOS 7.0.6 to address the major bug; however, if you haven't had a chance to update and jailbreak then we suggest you install this package ASAP.

The package is called 'SSLPatch' and is located on Petrich's own repo at http://rpetri.ch/repo/. You can find instructions on how to add a repo here.

Once you've installed the patch navigate to http://www.gotofail.com to make sure your device is secure.

As much as I like Ryan's mods, I feel he shouldn't deserve credit for this fix. A user on Reddit released a fix 2 hours before Ryan's which does the exact same thing.

Probably didn't come to iClarified's attention and Ryan is a well-known person in the jailbreaking community, so it's no wonder he is getting more attention. It's not a cure for cancer, so I'm guessing it doesn't matter to most people who released it, but that it was released by someone trusted in the community and it's not necessary to upgrade and re-jailbreak. We're all on the same team...
